Meta Ad Sizes 2026 — Facebook & Instagram Specs
Meta serves creative across dozens of placements with different aspect ratios and safe zones. Building one 1:1 asset and hoping the algorithm handles the rest leaves 40–60% of impressions running on cropped, awkwardly-framed frames. This page lists the correct native aspect ratio, resolution, and safe zone for each surface — the same numbers our resizer targets.

Common mistakes
- 01Uploading only 1:1 — you lose vertical Stories/Reels real estate.
- 02Placing text or logos in the bottom 250px of 9:16 assets — Instagram's caption overlay hides them.
- 03Compressing to under 500 KB and shipping visibly blocky JPEGs.
- 04Using landscape 16:9 as the primary aspect — mobile-first placements crop it hard.
FAQ
4:5 (1080×1350) is the safest single-asset choice — it renders natively in Feed, gets center-cropped cleanly in 1:1 placements, and only loses top/bottom in Stories/Reels. If you can ship one extra asset, add a native 9:16 for Stories/Reels.
Meta's Advantage+ placement enhancements can pan-and-scan a single asset, but the automation crops rather than composes. For anything with text, product framing, or CTAs, native-per-placement creative outperforms.
