3:2 is the ratio of a 35mm film frame and of nearly every full-frame camera sensor, which makes it the shape your product photography arrives in before anyone crops it.
What 3:2 means
A 3:2 frame is 1.5 times wider than it is tall. Multiply the width by 2/3 to get the height. Exact sizes include 1200×800, 1620×1080 and 6000×4000 (a typical 24 MP sensor).
